Coventry took on champions elect MSA with a scratch team after holidays and illness and unavailability decimated their squad but that takes nothing away from the side that played who were given the choice of either forfeiting the game and giving up a 1-0 score-line or giving it a go, and proud to say they all gave it a go by not taking the easy option. Brian William Sharp went in goal in his first time in a league game and pulled off some excellent saves to earn the Man of the Match award. Alwyn Day a late call up to the squad played although injured and the rest of the side Colin Yates, Phil Hutchings, Tony Malone, Peter Skelsey and Kevin Perrott worked tirelessly throughout but against a very good MSA side they were up against it.
Every one of the players were a credit to themselves and our club. We move on to the next game and can still finish third or even second if results go our way.
Many thanks to Jeff Grimes, Ken Badland and Brue Doe for the touchline support.
