A great turnout for Kimberley Perrott’s Memorial Event raised £570 for Asthma UK. This included £205 from the subs of 41 members who played and the remaining funds coming from the after match raffle and personal donations.
At the start of the tournament, the expected 5 teams quickly became 6, as more players arrived. Following a classic car theme, the teams were: Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porche, Mustang and Jaguar. Each team played each other once in 5 x 10-minute games, with the eventual winners being team Mustang, captained by Kevin Perrott, who finished on 9 points edging out team Ferrari on 8 points. Phil Maund picked up the golden boot scoring 3 goals, and Lisa Harvey won player of the tournament as voted by the referees, Colin Farmer and Ken Badland.
The format of the tournament was organised by Alwyn Day and Colin Farmer, who picked the teams. Kev Perrott was supported by his family and friends who came along to the event and organised the raffle and made the after match presentations. Kev’s daughter Natalie, and sister to Kimberley, thanked everyone for their kindness and support and for making this event, like previous events, such a special one and helping to keep Kim’s memory alive.
