Donation to Myton Hospice

Donation to Myton Hospice

Alwyn Day8 Oct - 09:33

Paul Quinn sends heartfelt thanks

One of our club members Paul Quinn, does a lot of fundraising in support of local charity Myton Hospice from running musical gigs to abseiling down the side of Coventry Cathedral.
Paul was organising and performing on a musical gig recently when he had between £150 to £200 stolen while his back was turned. It is of course a despicable thing to do when you think that all the money raised goes directly to Myton who help people suffering with a terminal diagnosis of cancer have a peaceful and dignified end to life.
When we heard about this, we as a club had no hesitation in making a donation of £200 to Paul, that we had raised on our recent Club Memorial Day where we remember players who have passed away, to make up for the theft of the money that was stolen.
Rachael Ryan and a colleague joined us at our Monday morning session to accept the cheque on behalf of Myton and were most grateful to the club for this donation, particularly given the circumstances that had prompted the donation. On the day, Paul who has a full-time job, unfortunately could not be there but sent his heartfelt appreciation and said he was genuinely overcome with the kind gesture of the club and sends his thanks to each and every member of our club.
