Our ladies team travelled to Northampton to play a four team friendly between two Northampton teams and Long Eaton.
The first game was against Northampton Clarets with the Coventry Ladies running out 1-0 winners with a well taken goal from skipper Sharon Hilton. She was unlucky not to score directly from the kick off when the ball was tapped to her and her shot was tipped over the bar by the keeper.
The second match was against Long Eaton. They only had 6 players so we loaned them Lesley who had an excellent game for them at full back. The game started off as a tight affair, but as the game progressed, Coventry were getting their passing going and had several shots at goal that either hit the post or the goalkeeper saved. When the breakthrough came it was Nade Caulwell and Claire Jones who netted the goals to give Coventry a 2-1 victory.
Game 3 was against Northampton Whites and again Nade and Claire were on the scoresheet to secure a 2-1 victory.
Another good showing from the Ladies. Three games, three victories. Debutantes Lorraine, Clare Jemmet and Kirsty can be pleased with their contribution to a fine all round performance from the team.
