Coventry & District Ladies play first League matches at Castle Vale

Competing in the Rachel Unitt League

Coventry & District Ladies went to Castle Vale Stadium on Sunday 19th October to compete in their very first League matches on a day where the heavens opened from the first match to the third.
It was a day of fluctuating fortunes for the squad and for individual players. The elation of winning the first match was tempered by the disappointment of losing the next two, well beaten in the second game by a good side, but cruelly beaten in the last match when at the very least a draw would have been a fairer result.

To summarise, we were not at our best but on a rain soaked day where errors were plentiful in every match we will learn from that come back wiser and stronger in the games to come.
Finally, I have to give a special mention to three people who turned out on a rain soaked miserable afternoon to support the squad. These three had been in hospital within the last seven days undergoing surgery, but still came along to give support to the team when they could have stayed at home in the dry and warmth.
Take a bow, Lorraine, Steph and Bruce. We are all very grateful for your support and it’s people like you who turn out to give your support that makes us the club we have become. Thank you.
